Commercial Real Estate and Land Use

Commercial Real Estate and Land Use in New Haven and Litchfield Counties

Transactions ● Industrial Property ● Retail Facilities ● Multifamily

The law firm of Duffy & Fasano has represented developers, contractors, landlords and tenants of commercial property in the Greater Waterbury area for over 30 years. As the city of Waterbury and surrounding regions shifted from an industrial to a service-based economy, we helped guide that shift and honed our abilities along the way.

For a free consultation, contact our offices online or call us at 866-668-9615. We'll give you an informed, practical assessment about the merits of your case and set realistic expectations about what we can accomplish toward meeting your objectives. Our reputation is one of honesty, integrity and skill — we will not make promises we can't keep, and we won't artificially inflate your expectations to get you to hire us.

Our Commercial Real Estate Practice

Although we do litigate disputes, much of our real estate practice is centered on transactional law, including multifamily rental property, retail facilities, freestanding industrial and factory buildings, industrial condos and retail condos. In commercial lending, we represent both lenders and borrowers, working to make all transactions are legally sound, and to see that they proceed without unnecessary delay.

We also handle commercial leasing issues for both landlords and tenants.

Land Use Issues

Before a construction project can proceed, builders must make sure that they are in compliance with local zoning laws. Duffy & Fasano represents builders before various municipal boards to gain official approval for commercial building in large-scale subdivisions, making sure that all requirements for roads, drainage ditches, traffic lights and environmental regulations are met. For many projects, we are able to help clients obtain the zoning variances they need to proceed.

In addition, we also work with the local government to help dedicate land as open space for future use. Once a parcel of farmland has been converted for commercial or residential use, there's no way to return it to its original state.
